Looking for Work. Freelance or Full Time
PLAY AREA DESIGNER

I am a 3D visualizer for indoor/outdoor play areas (used to work for SPI PLAY (UK) & PRIME PLAY (CANADA). I currently work as a freelance visualizer and would like to offer my services for freelance hire or full time.

As a passionate play designer the play equipment and areas I design are creative, innovative and diverse in theme and activity for all age groups in order to create a WOW! factor that will excite both children and parents. My designs encourage imagination and stimulate children's learning through play. So being original, conceptual and cutting edge is vital to winning customer project contracts and is a key quality and characteristic of my work.

I have designed modular play equipment and structures up to the value of £300,000 for corporate brands like Whitbread, David Lloyds, Little Tykes and Mc Donalds. I have also designed play structures internationally for Norway/Portugal/France/Dubai and commonly UK/Ireland Private, with varied types of areas for pubs/creshes/leisure/family entertainment centers and even a play bus (please see: http://www.partykidsbus.co.uk for virtual 3D animated tour).

My work in the past has involved liaising with customers and the sales personnel to devise customer requirements. I would then generate exciting concepts in 3D AutoCAD & then to 3D Studio Max for graphic rendering presentation for the clients- Structural Views/Level & Floor Plan Layout, through to detailing for user manuals, product catalogues and PSPs (Pre Site Prep) drawings for installation and assembly of: (steel piping /fittings/cut & sew and importantly- rotational moulding part configurations for slides, tunnels and other features and events.

Perhaps you require marketing material of products? (catalogues?/brochures?/website?/R&D promotion material)

Architectural layouts of designs to show clients or even full rendered visualizations to show the equipment in the proposed client area?

I am looking for a position where I can work from home. I have a BS in Recreation and Leisure Studies from SUNY Cortland and have been working full time in the field for 4 years. I can send my resume if needed. I have an 8 month old son and want to spend as much time with him as I can while still working. 3.Understand customer objectives, space requirements, and design preferences
4.Create custom playground designs and proposals to meet customer needs
5.Speak at conferences and trade shows to educate potential customers
6.Maintain customer relationships, seek referrals and additional contracts

Skills/qualifications:

1.Self-starter with ability to work independently
2.Ethical and honest business practices
3.Background in early childhood education, child development, architecture, design, or representing playground equipment is desirable
4.Creative problem-solver
5.Ability to envision the potential of a play environment
6.Excellent interpersonal communication skills and a willingness to meet new people
7.Sales experience desirable
